ExoInsight Version 12

At Casabase Software, our aim is to make the challenging parts of your job an afterthought, allowing you to focus on the actual task at hand. In order to make this happen, we continuously develop, test, and release improvements to our products on an on-going basis. We release a new version of ExoInsight, on average, every two to four weeks, and each version includes new functionality, improvements to existing functionality, bug fixes, and security updates. We understand that success is not a destination but an ongoing endeavor, and our operating model integrates this understanding into everything we do.

With a continuous release schedule it would not be appropriate to celebrate every version of ExoInsight, but we consider some versions significant milestones in the product lifecycle. ExoInsight Version 12 is one such milestone and includes new branding, improved UI, and new functionality that provides significant value.

New Branding and UI

ExoInsight has become the dominant integration platform for both on-prem Oracle EPM applications like Essbase and HFM and also for cloud-based Oracle EPM and ERP sources. Companies all over the world trust ExoInsight to seamlessly integrate their data from these Oracle sources to Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, EDWs, relational databases, or any other target, saving them untold hours and costs.

As the knowledge and usage of ExoInsight has grown, so has the tendency to use the terms Casabase and ExoInsight interchangeably. To help reduce confusion between the company name and product name as well as to help carve out the distinct domain that ExoInsight is creating, we are introducing ExoInsight-specific branding starting with version 12:

This new logo and branding will be evident in the ExoInsight application itself, as well as any marketing and promotional materials that are associated with ExoInsight.

ExoInsight version 12 also comes with an updated, modern UI that not only makes working with the application easier and more user-friendly but also continues to incorporate the latest security and vulnerability best practices.

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP Improvements

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP connectivity continues to be the fastest growing connection type that ExoInsight offers. Clients continue to rave about how quickly and easily they can access and utilize their Fusion Cloud ERP data in tools like Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or even integrate directly to relational databases like Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and many others. We continue to work tirelessly to add new functionality to these source connections, and ExoInsight version 12 has two big updates:

BI Publisher Report Integration

While the vast majority of your data needs can be accessed with the standard ExoInsight query language, sometimes you may want to write a custom SQL statement against the underlying tables to control exactly how the data is calculated and returned. Or perhaps your company has many existing reports that serve as the “source of truth” for various activities. To address these needs, ExoInsight now can call these reports, integrating the resulting data directly into any downstream target. No flat files, no exports…ExoInsight will simply call the BI Publisher report and deliver the results directly into the target system. You can even create an ExoInsight Saved POV to directly reference your BI Publisher report, giving you the option of centrally managing all your data extracts for your organization!

Write-Back to Fusion Cloud ERP

While extracting data from Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP can be challenging enough, writing data back can be equally challenging. This has been one of the most commonly requested features for ExoInsight, and we’re excited to be able to announce that version 12 now allows Fusion Cloud ERP write-back. You can now use ExoInsight to load up your journals, create your invoice lines, load up expenses, import data into cash management, or any other data you may need to load. This functionality is available from just about any system like Alteryx and even scripting like python or PowerShell. Using a tool like Alteryx, for example, will allow you to pull the data into your workflow, validate it by utilizing ExoInsight’s ability to pull data directly into the workflows, and successfully load the data, eliminating risk, kick-outs, and allow you to automate a labor-intensive process.

Going Forward

Version 12 is the next major foundational step for ExoInsight, but we are already hard at work on what’s next. We have many more updates on the roadmap, including additional Fusion Cloud ERP sources, functionality and performance improvements, additional targets, and many other ways to make your life easier. If you’d like to learn more we’d love to hear from you so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
