ExoInsight has quickly become a major component to management and operational reporting initiatives in companies large and small all over the world. The ease at which ExoInsight allows users to pull data out of previously difficult to access sources provides tremendous value and allows companies to focus on analyzing the data instead of trying to figure out how to access it.
As the popularity of Oracle PBCS has grown, so has the need to report on the forecasts and budgets contained within it. Most companies have existing investments in Tableau, Alteryx, and other reporting tools, and would now like to incorporate their PBCS data as well.
As with Oracle Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services, ExoInsight removes the extreme challenges to integrating your Oracle PBCS data with downstream reporting and operational systems. The provided connection options to Alteryx and Tableau mean you can pull your PBCS data and hierarchies directly into those tools, and the ExoInsight REST API allows you directly export your PBCS data and hierarchies to a relational database with a single script.
Alteryx
Like the Alteryx Connector for Essbase, ExoInsight provides a plug-in to connect directly to PBCS from your Alteryx workflow:
Simply pull the plug-in down and connect to your Oracle PBCS instance to pull the data directly into your workflow. You can manually select the members you want data for using the graphical outline window, or build the POV String dynamically in your workflow and pipe it into the connector:
Pulling hierarchies into Alteryx from PBCS is even easier. Simply type the dimension name in the box (or pipe it in from an external source) to pull the hierarchy information directly into Alteryx:
Tableau
The PBCS connection option to Tableau that ExoInsight provides works similarly to the ExoInsight Essbase connection. The Web Data Connector is used to select the data you want to work with in Tableau:
Once you have pulled the data, clicking the Load to Tableau button pulls this data into Tableau in table format. The dimensions are also pulled in as tables:
Relational Database
ExoInsight provides a REST API that handles all the data extraction, transformation, table creation, and loading required to pull your data into a relational database:
Once your data and hierarchies are in relational tables, accessing it is as easy as writing a SQL statement:
Easy Connectivity
ExoInsight makes getting your Oracle Essbase, Microsoft Analysis Services, and now Oracle PBCS data and hierarches a breeze into just about any downstream application. Contact us today to set up a demo!
